JAGDGRUPPE WEST PAINT SCHEME

Dear all,

Where can I find information on the paint scheme in 1943/1944 of the FW190's of the Jagdgruppe West that were based in the South West of France?

RLM references will be very welcome;

Thanks in advance and have a nice day.

Re: JAGDGRUPPE WEST PAINT SCHEME

Salut Gilles!

From memory (the book is not at hand now), some Heimdal books (La Luftwaffe face au Débarquement) seems to have some Pictures of JAGDGRUPPE WEST (at least there was one from a former JG 54 ace that was sent there as a Flight Instructor.

Some months ago (guess February 2017), some Fw 190 pictures from the South of France (Jagdgruppe West) were sold at Ebay.

I understand that those Fw 190A's from Jagdgruppe West were all "veterans" (second-hand machines), I mean, they were previously used by other Jagdgeschwaders, like JG 2, JG 26. I have seen, if memory does not fail me, some old Bf 109 E being used there, by 1943...so, perhaps if you do know the werknummer of the machine you are looking for, some specialists here on the Fórum can track down the camouflage/paint scheme.

I will try to find something for you on my files, but give me some time, please

Adriano

Re: JAGDGRUPPE WEST PAINT SCHEME

Bonjour cher Adriano et merci,

indeed, I know the Wnr. of this machine: it is the FW190 A4 Wnr. 145702. (It is the FW190 that shot down Chuck Yeager on 5 March 1944).

Thanks in advance for your ideas and suggestions, gentlemen, concerning the paint scheme of this machine,

and hello to my brasilian friend

GC
