Lt. Gottfried Dietze, JG 26

Dear All,
Do you happen to know Gottfried Dietze's date of birth?
Is he still alive? If not, when did he pass away?

(There is some information online about an American political scientist also called Gottfried Dietze (1922-2008). Is it a coincidence, or was it the same person?)
Thank you in advance.

The thing that got me about Dietz is that he flew from 1941 to 1945, only got five 5 vics; he was still promoted to LT's rank early in the war, which kind of surprised me.

Re: Lt. Gottfried Dietze, JG 26

Dear Carl,
Thank you very much for your answer. Apparently, there were two pilots called Gottfried Dietze. I meant the one from JG 26: http://falkeeins.blogspot.com/2011/0...-of-jg-26.html
