Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hello Rudi and Marc,
First, thank you both for your hard work and dedication. Regarding the photograph of the Ju 88 G-6 visible behind the Bf 110 G-4 night fighter (Posts #1357 and #1360), while looking much like Ju 88 G-6 (WNr. 622910) U5+BT, V./NJG2, found abandoned at Neubiberg, I concur that this is instead Ju 88 G-6 (WNr. 62089x) G9+BT, 9./NJG1, found at Fritzlar. Respectfully, Steve Sheflin |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
His there RudiS
W.Nr. 430267 is a Ju 88 D-1. Alas no other information on that machine. Your second photo does illustrate Bf 109 G-14 W.Nr 460 408, "Gelbe 4", Gefr. Georg Kuhr, 3./JG 76, shot down 29 September 1944 near Nijmegen, as ascertained by the bump in its spinner, also to be seen on this photo (scroll down): http://505rct.org/album2/hinchliff_b.asp Cheers Marc Last edited by Marc-André Haldimann; 21st October 2018 at 19:00. |

https://www.ebay.com/itm/WWII-US-GI-...r/192697316085 A fabulous shot, RudiS! We have here Erla built Bf 109 G-10 W.Nr. 151 934 "Gelbe 13" seen with the JG 300 RVB tailband; as it sports the short horizontal black bar of JGr. 300, ordered if memory serves me well in April 1945 for regrouping II. and III./JG 300. Location for this rare shot, possibly stemming from Carl Hildebrand's collection, is unknown so far. JGr. 300 machines were found at Langensalza, München-Riem, Ainring and Salzburg by war's end. Given the open and flat country to be seen, München-Riem would be a good candidate. Thanks again, RudiS ! Marc Last edited by Marc-André Haldimann; 22nd October 2018 at 11:46. |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Great find indeed!
WNr. 151934 was a Bf 109 G-10/R6 of a batch of a/c taken over on 25. March 1945 directly at the Erla-Auslieferungslager at Leipzig. III/JG 300 took over more than 20 a/c that day. And again that elusive black Balken on the Rumpfband. IMHO JGr 300 is a very remote possibility only, but who knows? Carl

Thanks for your precision regarding W.Nr. 151934. Regarding the touchy JG 300 - JGr. 300 issue, we have all told seven machines documented photographically so far sporting the short horizontal bar regarded as the specific JGr. 300 markings : 1. Erla built Bf 109 G-10 W.Nr unknown "Schwarze 1", JGr. 300, location unknown, Germany, May 1945. Source: Collection James V. Crow via Broken Eagles Bf 109 G/K, part II, Hildebrandt 1989, p. 3. 2. Erla built Bf 109 G-10 W.Nr. unknown "Gelbe 6", JGr 300, Neubiberg, Germany, May 1945. Source: Ebay auction, August 2012. 3. Erla built Bf 109 G-10 W.Nr. 49. .06 "Schwarzer Winkel", JGr 300, location unknown, Germany, May 1945. Source: Ebay auction, July 2012. 4. Erla built Bf 109 G-10 W.Nr. 150 816 "Schwarze 4", JGr 300, Langensalza, June 1945. Source: LEMB Forum, published in Forsyth 2004, Jagdwaffe colours, Volume five section three, Defending the Reich 1944-1945, p. 274. 5. Bf 109 G-10 W.Nr. unknown, "Blaue 2", Fw. Josef Umminger, 16./JG 300 with JGr 300 horizontal bar, Buchau, 8 May 1945. Source: Collection Hesse, published in Luftwaffe im Focus Spezial no 3, Photo 60. 6. Erla built Bf 109 G-10 W.Nr. unknown "Gelbe 1", JGr 300, Germany, after 16 April 1945. Source: ebay.de, November 2007. 7. Erla built Bf 109 G-10 W.Nr. 151 934 "Gelbe 13", found this morning. Not much indeed, but enough to start the ball rolling. Cheers Marc |
