Seeking info on Long Range Recon Bf 109Gs

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for photos and identification of the rare versions of the Bf 109G recon planes with two drop tanks under the wings. I've been able to find a few photos, mainly of the Bf 109G-4/R3 version, but I can't find enough info with them to know their markings or if they had any at all, other than their squad badge, if even that, on the cowling. I've attached most of the photos that I've found so far other than two computer generated artistic drawings. Can anyone help me identify one or more of these or share some I haven't found yet? My goal is to make a 1/32 model of an actual war time Long Range Bf 109G.

Thanks,
Brady

Re: Seeking info on Long Range Recon Bf 109Gs

All I have is the loss of Bf109G-6/R3 which fell to Spitfires of 602 Sqd. 50 miles east of Orkneys on 20-02-1944. The RAF combat report says the a/c was coloured a dirty grey with letters thought to be either A.K or A.H in very faint black lettering on the fuslage - Black crosses were also on wings and fuselage. The luftwaffe loss return shows Oblt. Helmut Quednau missing in Bf109G-6 20357 Kennz. A6+XH of 1(F)/120 mission photo.recon to Scapa Flow.
