Bf 109 crushed near Goltzen

Hello everyone from the new member of the forum.

I got some credible informations from independent sources that near village Goltzen (today Kolesin - Poland) there was a crash of Bf 109. They say that the situation took place in 1944/45 but in this fact I don't know if I could believe them in 100%.

Is there any good source to confirm this information? Or maybe not even confirm. This is 99% fact. I would like to find out anything - the specific type of Bf, who was a pilot? Anyone can help?

In some data base I found information about Bf crushed in Grunberg (Zielona Góra). The pilot was Norbert Hahn. It is 30 km from Goltzen so I doubt it is the same plane.

Thank you very much in advance
Matt

Re: Bf 109 crushed near Goltzen

Hello Matt,

Uffz Norbert Hahn was kia 31. January 1945 NE of Grünberg due to unknown reasons. He was with 11./JG 6 and flew a Bf 109 G14 Werknummer 464894 "black 5".

For "Goltzen" I only found an emergency-landing of Uffz Ernst Herold at Schinkendorff near Golzen (without "t") on 25. February 1944 due to fog. But I think, this is indeed Golzen, a small village near Leipzig.

Hello Matt,

in the Gen.Qu. loss report from 4 March 1945 No. 190 is only listed:
31.1. III./JG 6 Feindflug Ursache: Unbekannt Bf 109 G-14 464894 100%
Uffz Norbert Hahn vermisst.

So they didn't find him or his body? What does 100% mean?

You are right that Goltzen was sometimes written as "Golzen" but in this case - Golzen near Leipzig is a different village.

North East - that's correct! But in the straight line the place where the plane is said to be crushed is located 25 km from Zielona Góra centre. Isn't it to far to be a reference point in the registry? I think that accurate German army could use smaller but closer Zullichau (Sulechow - 10 km) or Bomst (Babimost - 5 km). I don't know I just guess. What do you think?

(sorry for posting two posts in row but I didn't manage to put 2 quotes in one)

regards

Thank you.

After hours of studying archives I more and more doubt it is the plane of Hahn. In some Russian site I found this:
30 января 1945
унтер-офицер Герхард Дёпке (Uffz. Gerhard Dоpke), 10./JG.6
На истребителе Bf 109 G-14/AS W.Nr. 786533 «Schwarze 4» не вернулся из полета в район Унруштадта, ныне Каргова (Польша).

Mentioned town Kargowa is 10 km from Goltzen. This is the closest I found. What is more - it is not written that it crashed near Kargowa but it was the destination. I assume plane not found.

Re: Bf 109 crushed near Goltzen

Döpke reported MIA in Boyadel-Kleinitz-Unruhstadt area. Not that far from Goltzen.

Hahn was reported missing 10 km NE Grünberg but crashed near Lezyca.

Thank you my friends. I didn't expect so fast support.

John, you have so detailed information. I could not find any information about any BF 109 in Łężyca, but if you say so, you probably have reliable sources.

So Döpke is the only one possible from pilots available in data bases. Both of them were members of III/JG 6 which was located in Sorau (Żary) at this time. What is pessimistic many shot down pilots from this formation can be ommited what can finish my case without ending. How it is with completness with this kind of information?
