He 111 P - identity
This plate was found at a crashsite in Ukraine a short time ago.
Any Information about aircraft and fate of Crew needed - He 111 P, Serial 1 627 Thanks Uwe Benkel - "Missing Airmen Research" Last edited by Uwe Benkel; 1st January 2021 at 19:06. |

Sorry Uwe,
Not real airframe W.Nr plate, in my opinion - Part plate 8.111.6001-09 (motor cowl, cowl-frame, engine bearer) says that that it can have easily travelled to another a/c or not even fitted to that He 111 P at all. Another plate had W.Nr. "1627" also but with B.Nr. 583 (8-111.538 - Wing part) BAL 06.39 - and was on TOCH some years back. I have studied these B-Plates and have several theories, but all are "line-plates" and as everybody should know, only tail end of plane held true W.Nr. As contradictory as it may seem W.Nr. (part) is not same as W.Nr. (airframe). Ed |
