Re: More unidentified oddities ZG 101 and 16./KG 40
Hi Chris
Many thanks for your input. I have Necesany documents stating the same thing, as they are missing from the mikrofilms I assume his claim was unconfirmed, or more likely awarded to "Wolthaus" having both attacked the same aircraft. Kind regards Johannes |

Re: More unidentified oddities ZG 101 and 16./KG 40
Necesany is listed and with 14 Staffel:
04.10.43 Ltn. Kurt Necesany 14./KG 40 Liberator £ 24 West N/2764: at 300 m. 10.25 Film C. 2031/II Anerk: Nr. While I have no Wolthaus with 16 Staffel (if that even existed) or V./KG 40 |

Re: More unidentified oddities ZG 101 and 16./KG 40
Hi Guys
Many thanks for your imput. Could well be "Schreiber" With "Wolthaus"/Necesany It's a curious one, I have ort=24West2764 and 300 m altitude, but the name certainly isn't Necesany, and although as you say improbable the unit given is 16./KG 40, absolutely a Leutnant. There are three pages of claims in the west for this day, I am looking at page 2 line 5. Kind Regards Johannes |

Quote:
9./ZG 1 in Oct 1943? Also Meyer/Stipdonk in their Die Deutsche Luftwaffe Zerstörer & Nachtjagdverbände Vol 1 says: Im Oktober 1942 wird die 16./KG 40 in 9./ZG 1 umbenannt. Cheers Stig |
