Re: loss of a handley page hampden

if the photos show it in shallow water it could be ,

420 Sqn Hampton I AE246 PT-V. ditched in the Kattegatt, 28-29 Mar.

Target LUBECK.

Re: loss of a handley page hampden

hi,

thanks and yes i should show the photos. but my scanner isn't working at the moment.

the hampden-wreck lies near a farm. it could be that the fragments of fuselage (cockpit) and wings were brought there. i don't know.

the date is only a guess because i got the photos togehter with others which show machines that were shot down during the raid against lubeck.

all the best
jim

Hi Jim

I'd be very interested in seeing those pics if possible. A few years ago I did a research project on the Lubeck Raid in March '42, and all the a/c involved in it.

Hope you might be able to upload them sometime soon.

Regards

Ian
