Re: RAF & RAAF on Java, Netherlands Indies

Hello,

For the RAF, a good place to start is here:

Eastward:A History of the Royal Air Force in the Far East 1945 - 1972
Lee, Sir David, Air Chief Marshal.
London:HMSO.,1984.

Most of the activity of the RAAF, in this area, at this time, was restricted to the repatriation of prisoners-of-war and humanitarian duties.

Where you after anything in particular?

Col.

Also the overall UK official history volume from THE WAR AGAINST JAPAN series:

Major General S. Woodburn Kirby
Vol. V: The Surrender of Japan

I note that Naval & Military Press has a sale on and is selling the reprint edition of this volume for 14 quid.

A useful history, marred by Woodburn Kirby's reluctance throughout all five volumes to admit when things went horribly wrong and explain why (which makes volume I about Singapore of limited utility).
