KE Reports 8590 and 8582
In researching RCAF personnel files, I have found copies of a card written in German that provides information on an individual found at a crash location and details of their burial. Some, but not all, of these cards also contain a KE Report number.
What is the name of these cards? Is the card the KE Report or is the KE Report a separate document? When and where were these cards prepared, was it at the crash site or later? I am specifically interested in KE Report 8582 for Lancaster KB710 and KE Report 8590 for Halifax MZ629, both shot down May 12/13 south of Brussels. Thank you for any assistance. |

Re: KE Reports 8590 and 8582
I can see that you have asked this question before
http://www.rafcommands.com/forum/sho...ffe-KE-Reports The card is not the KE report, which is a file with documents detailing the aircraft that crashed and the crew that came from it - as much as the Germans could find from the wreckage I do not know the name of the card, it could be a burial card keeping track of burials, it might be a POW/burial card keeping track of all Allied Air Crew coming down in Germany If you post a copy we might be able to comment Martin |

Re: KE Reports 8590 and 8582
It has been so long, I forgot that I asked that question already, my apologies.
So, an example of the card I am asking about is shown at this link: http://www.rcaf434squadron.com/docum...ficance/678227 So it seems that I am left with two questions, the first being, when/where was this card filled out? The second is where is the remainder of the KE Report and from the earlier response, the remainder of the KE Report may still be locked away in UK Archives in the MRES files. |
