Stig Jarlevik will become famous soon enough
Re: Photo Morane Saulnier

Indeed, quite rare

Type Bi (or BI or bI, take your pick...)
Three exported in 1913. Don't think any Russian production came along.

Cheers
Stig

Re: Photo Morane Saulnier

Hi Stig,

Thanks for that as I was no pun intended all at see over that one, to the degree I wasn't even certain it was a MS design. So good to have confirmation. A pity the Russians didn't do serials (or did they?)

Clint

Re: Photo Morane Saulnier

Russia?

If 100% of the Tsar documents had survived, I might have had a clue Clint.
As it is right now, I don't know.
It seems both the Army and Navy had some kind of record system, and now and then you can see it on the aircraft.
Unfortunately visible signs are very rare so you have to rely on the source and accept they "know"

There is a quite good four volume series of Camo and Markings published, but I have not tried to do anything "useful" with the info yet....too busy covering your tracks....

Cheers
Stig

Re: Photo Morane Saulnier

Hi Stig,

Yes, I've seen the four volume series advertised. It would be interesting to know if there's a serial system. Perhaps I should slow up

The thing is having just discovered delcampe I know I've only scratched the surface of whats on there, albeit most of the good stuff seems to cover french aircraft. Waiting for various deliveries today I've spent practically all day today on that one site and feel more knackered than I remember work feeling and that could be pretty hectic. Better pace myself I think. Definitely a day out tomorrow weather permitting. That should allow you time to translate all four volumes Well ok three then.

Regards,

Clint
