Does anyone have a transcript of his combat report which resulted in him badly damaging a Do 17 of KG 2 and the Do 17 damaging his Hurricane forcing him to bale out? Somewhere I have his book but can I find it and it looks as if the NA copy of the combat report was one of those that 'went missing' some years ago

Is that the same plane shot down picture in "Duel of Eagles"?

Wouldn't know about the picture in the book as I cannot lay my hands on it. My photo comes from a private collection & is taken fom the port rear showing U5+GM & Wk Nr. Are you thinking about the He 111 he shot down earlier with 43 Sqn?

Trawling through some photos here I have come across a photo of U5+GM. W.Nr indistinct, and only code letters +GM visible. About twenty or so aircrew resting on the grass in the foreground.
