Loss of Stirling EJ105 on 23 September 1943

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could provide me with more information about the loss of Short Stirling EJ105 in England on 23 September 1943? I'm especially interested in a member of the crew, Flight Sergeant Rodney Ernest Duffy.

Any information oir photographs would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Andrew A.

Hi,

Thanks very much for that link: I wasn't aware of the existence of the Lost Bombers website.

Hi Andrew,
The casualty files of two of the RAAF airmen on board EJ105,415076 T D Ellis and 421899 R L Gehrig, have been digitised and are available to view online at The National Archives of Australia website. Both are quite large files and appear, on quick inspection,to contain a lot of information.
Hope this is of use,
Regards,Mark.

Hi Mark,

Thanks very much for pointing that out. The AWM site was the first place I checked, but unfortunately Rodney Duffy's personnel record has yet to be digitized. However, as you say the files of Ellis and Gehrig should be very useful indeed.

Cheers,
Andrew A.
