Help!Need info on Rolf Nolte-Ernsting

Hello everyone!

I have recently acquired a letter written by Heinz Edgar Berres notifying Uff. Nolte-Ernsting's father that his son has not come back to the base after a dogfight with Spitfires on the 29th of June. What's interesting is that the letter was written more than a week after the pilot was reported MIA, on the 8.7, so just a few days before Berres himself would be reported missing.

I'd like to know if you have some information about Rolf Nolte-Ernsting, such as promotion dates, awards, previous units he served in, eventual aerial victories.

I thank you all in advance.
Best regards, Elia

Re: Help!Need info on Rolf Nolte-Ernsting

Hello,

I have been in touch with his brother many years ago.
He remembered his brother as a happy young boy full of passion for aviation. His sleeping room's walls were completely covered by photos, images of aircraft. With 10 years he started building model kits, after this he started with gliders. He entered the Wehrmacht in 1940.

Hope it helps.

Erik

ASSO,

I do have a Bf 109 damaged by F/L Stephen Walter Daniel, D.F.C. (RAFO 46874), from 72 Squadron over Sicily...and JG 53 claiming 3 Spitfires on that afternoon too, to the South of Syracuse.
Have you found who claimed Rolf Nolte-Ernsting ?

Yours,
Adriano S. Baumgartner
