422nd NFS Encounter Reports on reel

Hello,

I am unable to find the Encounter Reports of 422nd NFS from November 1944 on reel A0804.
I have checked it (I think) thoroughly but found only those dated July-October '44 (frame 968-99).
From that point, the reel contains only OPREP's with a short summary of claims but not the Encounter Reports theirself.

They may exist (perhaps not on microfilm) as I have got one dated December '44 (emitted from A-78, sent to Commanding General, IX TAC, APO 595).

I am especially interested by the ER of December '44.

Thanks for your attention.

Re: 422nd NFS Encounter Reports on reel

I have checked both reels A0803 & A0804 and found any encounter report beyond October '44.

Perhaps those are kept in files 9TAC37/9TAC38 (as Personal Encounter Report) but I don't know how to make it checked?

Perhaps Mr Olynyk may give me a clue?
Another gentleman, Erich, who managed so well the 422nd NFS data's may also help. Unfortunately it seems Erich encountered health problems and gets some rest from the forum.

Anyway, thanks for any hint or share.

Re: 422nd NFS Encounter Reports on reel

I have them all, but simply marked as "PER" with no source, which implies to me that I found them at the National Archives at Suitland, and microfilmed them back in the 1980s. Two of them, from August 1944, are on microfilm B5893 from Maxwell. On my next visit to NARA II I will check for the 422nd NFS records.

Enjoy!

Frank.

Hello Frank,

Coïncidently I was just reading the Introduction of your Victory List N°5...
I am interested by copies of PER. I just received a copy of Danielson/Fiala ER about their epic combat on the 26-27/12/44.
Let me know your charges once copied please.

Thank you for your kind offer.
