At Kirkenes on the 30/7/41, the Albacore crewed by Sub-Lt RD Head, Lt GM Haynes RAN, L/A J Madeley, was damaged by anti-aircraft fire. Could someone please look up the serial number? Thanks!

The serial number is not given in the FAA book you mention. One possible reason is that as '5H' suffered only minor damage to the upper wing nobody bothered to record the serial.

Re: Fleet Air Arm Aircraft 1939 to 1945 Look-up

Hello Bruce,
30th July 1941.
Seems to be a bit of a headache for us all.
I see that the following serial numbers do not seem to have been found.

Albacore I TSR - "5C", 828 Sqdn FAA.
S/Lt(A) McKay, S/Lt(A) Paton, Ldg Airman Corner.

Albacore I TSR - "5K" , 828 Sqdn FAA.
Lt(A) Hughes - Williams, S/Lt(A) Davies, Ldg Airman Fox.

Albacore I TSR - "5L", 828 Sqdn FAA.
Lt(A) Ross-Taylor, S/Lt(A) Clayton, Ldg Airman Miles.

Fulmar II - 809 Sqdn FAA, S/Lt(A) Blacklock, Lt(A) Easton.

Fulmar II - 809 Sqdn FAA, S/Lt(A) Miller, Ldg Airman Barrow.

Alex
