He 111 Wk Nr 2145

I have a photo of the above Wk Nr on a He 111 of I/KG 55, presumably 3 Staffel, taken at the start of the war; does anyone have any idea of its fate?

It is given as a P-5, survive the early war campaigns, was lost 70 % by a crashlanding due to motor failure 25 nov. 42 by FFS C13 in Braunau 3 wounded

He111P-2, 2145, Kappeler, Gefr. Karl (B), III./KG 55, 6/23/1941, WIA due to enemy fire., Ostfront, Gen.Qu.6.Abt. (mfm #3)-Vol.5, Slipcze, 40%.

Remi, what is your source?

According to III./K.G. 55 war diary Gefr. Kappeler of 7./K.G. 55 was wounded on 22-Jun-41. During mission against airfields Dubno, Mlynow, Brody, Ratschyn - first mission of the day (first start 0250, last landing 0545hrs).
