Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm crash English Channel 1950

Can anyone here please offer details of a Fleet Air Arm crash into the English Channel in 1950, that involved New Zealand pilot Vivian Hamilton Maisey? he apparently broke his back and was invalided out of the FAA, which he'd served in since 1944 after transferring from the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

Vivian was from my home town of Cambridge before the war and therefore I have a page on him on my website Wings Over Cambridge, but I'd like to build up a more accurate picture of his flying career. He's quite rare in that he served in the NZ Army, RNZAF and FAA in WWII.
