Re: Hello and 1st enquiry
Nick,
so this might be possibly a kill by US fighters at daytime. Just a guess. Best Regards Norbert |

Re: Hello and 1st enquiry
The Americans had night fighters too but I don't think we should exclude an accident as the cause of this loss. Obviously, I don't know what information WASt. may have received since the »namentliche Verlustmeldung« was first submitted.

Re: Hello and 1st enquiry
Nick,
so this might be a possible score for US fighters at daylight. Just a guess. Or is any time for this incident mentioned in the GQM and/or the NVM papers? Best Regards Norbert |

Re: Hello and 1st enquiry
I have no reason to suppose this happened in daylight; it is very unlikely that they would have risked a daylight ferry flight at that stage of the war and 4./KG 200 operated by night. I have no information on American night fighter claims for the date in question.

Re: Hello and 1st enquiry
Hi guys
Might this have been a friendly fire incident? Any Luftwaffe claim that might fit the bill? Just a thought. Cheers Brian Last edited by Brian; 30th November 2011 at 11:01. |

Re: Hello and 1st enquiry
By checking the pieces i hold to this LW-loss i somehow do agree with Nick's opinion at least. Entry in church-diary of Marjoß only records "durch Absturz" (crash).
