Hi,
Who helping me with identify this Hampden bomber, which crash-landed probably in Holland ?? Thanks in advance, Michel |

Going thru the SLGO database, a candidate is AT130 of 420 Squadron (PT-S). Shot down in night of 21/22 Jan 1942, emergency landing at Sexbierum, Friesland. 4 crew POW. Groet, Leendert |

Yes this appears to be AT130, crew of four PoW. Entry in the NCA series: Ofw. Hans Rasper: 7 5./NJG2 Wellington Sexbierum, 6 km NNE Harlingen (prob. Tiger): 4.000 m. 22.30 455 Sqn Hampden AT130. Note: coned by 1.-3./Res. Flakscheinw. Abt. 269, also claimed by Luftwaffe Flak of 1. & 2./Res. Flak Abt. 531, 2. & 3./Res. Flak Abt. 117, 3./Res. Flak Abt. 306 and 1./Res. Flak Abt. 334 (‘Hampden near Harlingen 22.30 hrs’) and by Marine Flak of 2./M. Flak Abt. 236 battery Delfzijl (‘Hampden near Pietersbierum 22.30 hrs’), Luftwaffe Flak and Flak searchlight claims confirmed by OKL on 27.6.1944, Marine Flak claim confirmed as 21st confirmed victory of M. Desmond de Largy GREALY RAFVR - PoW - 7A/L6/L4/No.90127 1305104 Sgt (W.Op.) David Gardiner SEMPLE RAFVR - PoW - 383/L7/No.90122 930272 Sgt (Air Gnr.) Robert Lewis BOTT RAFVR - PoW - 383/L7/No.120 * A/S/L V. T. L. Wood was an Australian serving in the RAF. Wood was granted a Short Service Commission in the RAF on 5 July, 1937. He hailed from Geelong, Victoria, and was O.C. "B" Flight, 420 Sqn RCAF at the time of his capture. Prior to joining 420 Sqn., he had served on 23, 610 Sqns, and 4 FFP, Filton. Col.
