Thorvald Johnsen

Thorvald Johnsen

64 Squadron

Trying to identify the aerial claims of this pilot.

25.03.43 0-1-0 Fw190A-4 (6.JG26 Ltn Hans-Guenther Loerzer WIA)

122 Squadron

14.05.43 0-1-0 Fw190A
04.07.43 0-0-1 Bf109G
09.09.43 0-2-0 Bf109G (5.JG2 lost a Bf109G-6 Uffz Robert Weiss and 4.JG2 had another wia)
11.11.43 1-0-0 Fw190a-6 (Fw Peter Ahrens 3.JG26)

602 Squadron

04.07.44 0-0-1 Fw190
17.07.44 2-0-0 Bf109G-6 (JG26 lost several aircraft to 411 or 602 Squadrons).

It seems possible that Johnsen made as least five, possibly six claims that were confirmable post-war. Although perhaps like Graham Hulse he was unlucky that these were not acknowledged at the time.

regards

Keith
