Re: eBay: Me262 photo.

I think that the marking is Air Min 80. However, the list of Intelligence Numbering-Air Min Series (book: British Military Aircraft Serials by Bruce Robertson, page 363' gives for 80 Arado Ar234B. Number 81 is a Me262A, serial nr. 500210 RAF reg. VH519, shipped to Austalia.

Re: eBay: Me262 photo.

I have this Me 262A-1a as WNr 111690, "white 5" from 2./JG 7 and surrendered May, 8th, 1945 at Fassberg by Staffelkapitän Oblt Fritz Stehle. One of the "Fassberg Five" and according to my sources always listed as AirMin 80. Was shipped to Montreal in '46, Canada and ended as fire guard test object at Aylmer a/f, Canada.

Regards

Roland

Re: eBay: Me262 photo.

Hello Pilot and everyone else,

First, thank you for the hi-resolution photos.

I wonder if the roughly-sprayed “0338” visible on the engine cowl in Post #8 might be the last four digits of its Motornummer? I have seventeen Jumo004s with Motornummern with the XXX 3010XXX format in my database file.

Re: eBay: Me262 photo.

Interesting idea Steve. It's the first time I recall seeing the motornummern displayed like this. Considering how often they were replaced, and how quickly they could be replaced, it seems unusual why they would display the number like this.
