I./JG 54 -- 07-nov-1939
Hi,
a Lt. Albert Walter was involved in a ground collision and was unhurt (Die JFV 2 by Prien) a Gefr. J. Dörfler (could be) was involved in a ground collision (the same ?) and crashed into the Klemmwerke, Böblingen a/f. (BoF Then & Now). looking at the names register in P. Saintes vol.2 of La Jagdgeschwader 54 there is no mention of a J. Dörfler. Perhaps someone has more information about this accident? Thx in advance. Dirk |

Re: I./JG 54 -- 07-nov-1939
Here it is.
07/11/1939; 1./JG 54; Fl.Pl. Böblingen; Geparkt, von Bf 109 (Gefr. Dörfler) gerammt; Bf 109 E; 50%, Pilot: N/A. 07/11/1939; 2./JG 54; Fl.Pl. Böblingen; Nach Zusammenstoß mit Bf 109 in Halle der Klemmwerke geflogen; Bf 109 E-1; 95%; Gefr. Dörfler, G.; gefallen. So, unless Lt. Albert Walter was in the cockpit of 1./JG 54 aircraft, these would be two unrelated incidents. Regards, Sinisa |

Re: I./JG 54 -- 07-nov-1939
Hi
The Gefreiter Josef Dörfler was from the groundcrew of the 2.Staffel (Technische Komp.), not a pilot. He was hit from the 109 from Lt. Walter before he was smashed the Klemm-Hall. Lt. Walters 109 broke out at the start. Sources war NVM, Riebls History of the I./JG 54. Greetings Christian |
