Mapping syntheses using ROC data etc
'morning everyone. Small Inquiry.
Syntheses of radar tracking and Observer corps plotting of raiders were compiled, as far as I know, daily, and issued from time to time as eg ‘German cloud cover operations maps’ and similar. MJF Bowyer reproduces a couple, for January 30th 1941 and 27 February 1941 in his ‘Air Raid, the enemy air offensive against East Anglia 1939-45’ 1986, (Patrick Stephens, Wellingborough pp 158-59), and I have seen occasional examples of these as far back as August 1940. Now, I know Observer Corps records are preserved somewhere a bit counterintuitive (Basingstoke? Winchester?), but I am assuming these syntheses of ROC Post inputs, radar plots, W/T data, got turned into maps somewhere else. Sooo, my question is: by whom? and most importantly, what survives? Particularly interested in 1940, 1941 obviously. Best to all. ChrisG |
