Can anyone help me with more info about Halifax LV990, 433 Squadron.
This plane crashed on April 22/23 1944 after a raid to Dusseldorf

Re: Halifax LV990 433 Squadron

Could it be that LV990 coded BM-J was hit by flak near Arnhem like LV840 BM-E of the same Squadron that was lost the same night and crashed just over the border in Reichswald Forest?

Re: Halifax LV990 433 Squadron

There is an interesting PDG document on the Internet about the 433 Squadron.

http://www.manitobamilitaryaviationm...33squadron.pdf

In this document, there is a statement from T.N. Morris (only crew member to survive) on what happened where (see page 5).
Seems the aircraft was hit by Flak near German city of Aachen.

Regards.
