Re: Found a BF109 crash site, all infos welcome!

Hi, some news!

I sadly still have no ID for this plane, and found no records of the crash on my village's archives. Wich is, by the way, full of interesting german paperwork.

I'm in the process of cleaning every part I dug out (hundreds).
I have identified some nice new parts, for example a hammer from a Walther LP36 flare gun.

Also have 3 recurrents remains of paint on aluminium fragments, a light green, a light blue, and sometimes yellow over painting, which might come from the nose.

I'll try to upload pictures of all the parts, maybe some unknown parts will find an ID!

Re: Found a BF109 crash site, all infos welcome!

I also found this report of a 109 taken down.
Interesting because it says 10 miles E of chartres, my crash site is 10 miles E/NE of Chartres.
It also says explosion on ground wich matches the very very bad state of the remains I found.

And, last, I'm almost sure crash was during summer, and almost sure the plane is a G-6 or later, so august 44 is also a possible match.

Has anyone got more info on this crash?

Here is the link:
http://412th.org/archives/Encounter%..._44_Mather.htm

And a second one, 9/08/44, date, plane and location also match.

Hello Fabrizio,
You could take a ride on the site FORCED LANDING Association in the Eure et Loir. This is a serious site.
Good luck.

Hi,
I know the site and have read it many many times, but sadly it has very few informations on german planes. I also called the owner/ president of the association, he had no more info about this 109.

Any parts with numbers on them will maybe narrow down the search field. I just dug a Bf109-G this weekend myself....they are hard to ID. Danny

ClinA, the only thing I can say by now is that we found parts of the mount for the DB605 and of the mount for the 151/20. We found iron 20mm casings and brass 13mm casings. Total weight of items found, less than 100kgs. We found some part numbers and some paint and are in the process of cleaning the parts. Danny
