Hi Alex,

Have you seen the RAF Liberator site:
http://www.acseac.co.uk/index.php

Maybe you can get some help on their Forum.

Cheers
Peter

Hi Alex,

Have you tried here:

http://home.att.net/~jbaugher/usafserials.html

This site has all the serials of most, if not all, of the aircraft built in the USA. I've been slowly going through it pulling out all the RAF Liberators. I'll mail you what I have so far.

Alex

Re: RAF B24 Liberator losses .

Missions and losses of No 178 Sqdn were over Yugoslavia, not N Italy.
First two were on supply drop over North Slovenia, 5/6 November, at least two other crews reported aircraft exploding and hitting the ground in vicinity of a drop zone.
I think the third was also lost on mission to Slovenia and the fourth one missing on return from dropping supplies just NW of Tuzla, northwest Bosnia - one of the aircraft from that mission reported missing between Zenica and Kakanj.

Re: RAF B24 Liberator losses .

Hello Gentlemen,

Thank you all for your help.

It may just eliminate all of them from the search we are doing, as we seek one that fell in Northern Italy that did not seem to fall in with any USAAF aircraft lost.

Thanks again.

Alex
