Re: Photo Albatros C.III
Hello,
Currently on delcampe is a photo of Albatros C.III (Bay) 7214 at: https://www.delcampe.net/de/sammlero...448295228.html Apparently a training machine as shown by the wooden wheels and quite possibly the reduction in the usual quantity of wings points in the direction of a ground based trainer. Re: Photo Albatros C.III
Hello,
Currently on ebay is a photo of an Albatros C.III at: https://www.ebay.de/itm/1WK-Doppelde...AAAOSwRaVfPRUG Given wgat can be seen of the serial the aircraft was one of the machines in the range C.1400/16 to C.1404/16 and the wooden wheels would indicate that the machine shown was operated by a training unit. Re: Photo Albatros C.III
Hi Clint
Given the highly and deeply curved last digit I would rather put my money on C.1400 than either 1402 or 1403. Cheers Stig |

Re: Photo Albatros C.III
Hi Stig,
I quite agree. My first thought was C.1400/16. Hopefully not too coloured by the fact that I've already seen photos of C1401/16 and C.1402/16. It doesn't look like either of those two, but then it wouldn't necessarily as both of those photos show the machines in front line service and the possibility of a change in appearance can't be ruled out. Fingers crossed the seller posts a further image. Regards, Clint |
