Thunderbolts of GCII/5

Without success I have found GCII/5 photos of its first Thunderbolts, Most sources indicate this unit operated the Republic P-47D-28-RE Thunderbolt GC II/5 Lafayette (from Amberien, France 1944). Can anyone confirm whether these were the Thunderbolts they received in 1944?

regards

Keith
