Information on attack to ship Llancarvan by KG40 FW200
Hello,
I'm researching the sinking by bomb of the mercantile ship "Llancarvan" that occured on 30 May June 1943, near Cape St. Vincent, south of Portugal. I now have the official Portuguese report and the report of the master of the Llancarvan, but I'm looking for the report of the Luftwaffe pilots (I assume they were from KG40). Does anybody know where I could get this? Thanks for all the help. Nuno |

Re: Information on attack to ship Llancarvan by KG40 FW200
Dear Nuno,
I read last year a book written by a german named Sonke Neitzel about the activities of the Luftwaffe over the North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. In that book stands a list of FW 200 attacks from 22.3.43 to 1.10.43. On 30 may 1943 stands the following line: Llancarvon (Escorted Group), 4910 BRT, sunken. If you want I will read the book more carefully to find out what the writers sources are. Kind regards Piet Dellebeke (is also my name on the memberslist) |

Thank you Piet.
If you can send the name of the book, that would be great. Thanks. |

It's always worth googling a ship's name.
I got http://www.angelfire.com/de/BobSanders/ETR.html which gives this information: LLACARVAN 1917-18 1904 4748 Richardson, Duck, Stockton Previously the W I RADCLIFFE - Torpedoed & sunk 16 May 1918 LLANCARFAN 1940-43 1937 4910 White's Marine, Hepburn Bought from White Shipping, Newcastle - Bombed/sunk 30 May 1943 |
