Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Good evening everyone
The Bf109 (Ebay) at No.185, does anybody know where these pictures had been taken? The 549th AAA Battalion, 87th Infantry Division, 3rd Army is written in the description, so maybe in Czechoslovakia?
Thanks for any help, and thank you all for your helpful answers to my question about the Me 262 in No.176.
Best regards
Harry

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Hello Harry,

For what it’s worth, military.wikia.com states that the 87th ID, “Entered Germany 16 March 1945, and remained to VE Day.” If correct, this would precluded Czechoslovakia for the location of the photos.

Respectfully,

Steve Sheflin

In 1945 you could be "in Germany" but actually on territory annexed from Czechoslovakia, so captions might be ambiguous.

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

I expect this is a well-known Me 262, but it may be a new photo. Or, at least, of interest to someone.

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Hi Sirbob,

Thank you! This is a new photo to me. The stain in front of the MK 108 hatch cover allows it to be identified in other pictures as one of two Me 262 found under a camouflage netting in front of a large wooden building hidden in a forest. Probably of the 1117xx series from the Hessental waldwerk.

best regards,

Jim Geens

Good morning!

On www.stammkennzeichen.de are 13 different combinations
of ??+GX, but only two for an A-3.
DF+GX
