Two Re 2002 at Lyon-Bron. Identified by Allied Technical Intelligence as Fiat G. 50!

At first glance, I would be tempted to say the same thing as you. But something disturbs me with the tips of the wings: they are not rounded ... I own several photographs of the Lyon-Bron Re 2002 and the two on the #1222 are not the same.

They are both indeed Re 2002. The one on the left clearly has its engine intake still intact on the upper part of its cowling. The aircraft on the right is much more "fallen apart" and the intake is missing and so is also quite a bit of the port wing, including its rear and also the rounded wing tip. Another photo showing exactly this aircraft and its starboard wing where one can see the rounded wing tip still in place. Cheers Stig |
