Big Week February 1944 RAF fighter escort
Hello everyone,
during the February 1944 Big Week operation, several airfields in the Netherlands were raided by USAAF B-26 bombers, escorted by RAF fighter aircraft. Were these RAF fighters involved in the strafing of airfields or solely flying escort? Regards, Timon |

Re: Big Week February 1944 RAF fighter escort
Hi
These missions were flown by 65 and 19 Sqn of 122 Wing their task was Top Cover at altitudes 23 to 27,000ft. There are no records in the ORBs of any ground strafing. Steve |

Timon,
Can you please be more specific? There was so much going on in February, and the months leading up to June... Thanks, Stephen |

Re: Big Week February 1944 RAF fighter escort
Thank you Steve!
Stephen, Steve's answer is satisfactory. I know enough. I was indeed pointing at the 20 to 25 February 1944 operation Argument. Kind regards, Timon |
