RAF Station ORB

Good morning,

On the 18th of june 1940, No 1 Squadron returning from France landed at Tamgmere at 13h30. Could the squadron's Hurricanes serial numbers have been recorded in some of this station's files ? If so wich should I search ?

Many thanks.

Bernard.

Re: RAF Station ORB

Very unlikely. The Stn ORB tended to record what happened to the Stn and its personnel. It would have probably recorded the arrival of 1 Sqn but that is all

Re: RAF Station ORB

I have the complete Tangmere ORB and can confirm no serial numbers are quoted. As Chris said, these were not details recorded in Station ORB's and so if not in the No 1 Squadron ORB then its a bit of a hopeless cause I'm afraid.

Bernard,

If the information exists it will only be held in the No. 1 Squadron ORB (AIR27/1 microfilm) at the NA(PRO) at Kew.

Re: RAF Station ORB

Thank you Peter,

I do have No 1 Squadron ORB, but considering the Battle of France period, as this document was rewritten ( as you know the originals were either burnt or sunk ) there is no F541 available after the 30th of april 1940.

Best wishes.

Bernard.
