No. 1586 (Polish) Flight Night April 3/4 1944

Hello,

does somebody has access to ORB No. 1586 (Polish) Flight for Night April 3/4 1944. During this Night should crew of this unit dropped three Czechoslovak Parachutists over Bohemia.

Does somebody know serial and crew of this plane? How many planes did send No. 1586 Flight to operations this night?

Thanks for help

Michal, it is supposed to be Halifax LW284 "T" with the crew:

Pilot - F/O Jan Dziedzic,
II Pilot - F/Sgt Henryk Golebiowski,
F/E - Sgt Jozef Zubrzycki,
Nav. - F/O Antoni Blazewski,
Disp. - F/Sgt Stefan Kulach,
W.Op. - F/Sgt Jerzy Koper,
A.G. - F/O Stefan Czekalski

Take off was at 7.20 PM and return after 9 hours of flight.

This info is taken from the book by Kajetan Bieniecki "Polskie załogi nad Europą 1942-1945" (Polish aircrews over Europe) which is very detailed summary of special operations made by 1586 (Polish) S.D. Flight over occupied Europe (except Poland).
In addition to above mentioned sortie another 8 crews were sent to drop supplies to Poland that night. Those crews are enlisted in another book by Bieniecki as well.

I hope that it may be of help.
Gregory
