Bf 109E-3 of JG1, 1940, Werk Nr. 1380
Hello everyone!
I am building a scale model of a Bf 109E-3 representing the machine of Carl-Alfred Schumacher as Kommodore of JG1 in Spring 1940. The machine has a listed Werk Nr. 1380 in the instruction sheets but as I building it with an open engine bay, I am trying to find the corresponding serial of the DB-601A engine. I've found some photos of the plane and that, based on the batch, it should have been built by the Erla factory in Leipzig but no luck on the engine serial so far. |

The engine fitted when built was probably not the same engine throughout its life. Engines have lifespans so were changed regularly even when not damaged in combat
