Identity of lost airman?

Hi,

I have bought a few portraits of fliers with loss dates on but the information is very basic. I wonder if anyone can help me?

I have the following information:

L Kaufmann - lost 26.10.42

Harry Gahr? - gefallen 19.08.42 - possibly St Valery en Caux France

Andreas - gefallen 27.03.44

Any help would be appreciated but I understand it is a bit like a needle in a haystack!

Rick

Re: Identity of lost airman?

Good grief!

That was unbelievable.

Thank you very much Matti.

I have several other in my collection that are named with a lost date but little other information.

I will have to find them out to see if you can provide them with more informed details.

This information you provide is vital as it gives each picture and person more of an identity - and each one deserves this.

I have a great uncle who was killed on the first day of the Somme and was only just 17. We have no picture of him and I am constantly searching for one.

By providing this information on these portraits I feel others in the future may find lost relatives.

Thanks again - keep well

Rick
