info about Me323 crashed near Pesaro 1942

On december 16 1942 a Me323 Gigant with a crew of ten crashed near Pesaro at Gabicce Monte (Italy, Adriatic sea), probably due to fog.
I am searching any information about this fact.
Thanks
Toni

Re: info about Me323 crashed near Pesaro 1942

Toni...

I have only one entry on a list giving that date, although I concede the list is incomplete.

Details are:

W.Nr. 1108 Coded: RD + QH Unit: I./K.G.z.b.V. 323 Destroyed 100% on 16.12.42 near Crimmiek, probably after accidental contact with the ground, crew killed. Source: Genst.Gen.Qu.6.Abt.

I'm not sure this is your machine as I have no idea where Crimmiek is. Doesn't sound particualrly Italian to me, but then I'm Scottish and it doesn't sound particularly Scottish either!

Kindest regards,

Paul

Hi Toni,

Does not the link I put on your previous Thread answer your question with crash location given as 50km. south of Rimini. Number 1108 was the only one lost that day as far as I could see,

Re: info about Me323 crashed near Pesaro 1942

I have found the following text in italian in
http://www.archeologidellaria.org/in...p?topic=2176.0
The place of the crash is near Gabicce Monte, north of Pesaro, south of Rimini. Maybe Crimmiek was a german military identification name of the place on the coast? Nothing similar in our language or on the territory (I am from Gabicce!). Some witnesses are cited.
regards
Toni
Me 323 Gigant a Vallugola (PU)

Block 6 Grab 211 16.12.1942 50 Km Sud RIMINI 1./KG.z.b.V. 323, Me 323, 1108 FF Feldwebel Marcks Lothar 06.10.1907

On 16 December 1942 a Me 323 Gigant flying north, presumably because of the fog as we have been told by those who witnessed the tragedy that day, hit the top of the hill called La Montagnola (height of 196 meters above sea level), on the cliff from Gabicce Monte come up to Pesaro. The esamotore ruined caught fire in the valley below. In the accident the ten crew members on board were killed, and the story aroused great eco and emotion, as evidenced by the record of the funeral of the Adriatic Courier reported on 20 December. Here are the names of the deceased and the location of the graves FutaPass:

Among the fallen there is also BS Ogef Schereter but does not appear to Futa Pass.
On the day of October 13, 2012 we were able to locate the place where the glider ended its run, now a golf course (sic) of the Golf Club Vallugola. Very kindly manager, Mr. Roberto Pompei has allowed us to do a research with Md, and so in the midst of balls and flags we made some hole (folded carefully) and found the confirmation of the crash. It 'clear that such an accident combined with the characteristic of the aircraft makes it impossible to find much, but something has come to light after seventy years, and has paid off of our labors.
We want to thank Messrs. Palmetti Umberto and Bruno Baldelli that allowed us to find the places, Lucci Lucio of http://www.aviazionemarche.org/ for the extract of the Courier Adriatic, golf club Vallugola in person Mr Roberto Pompei and finally our. valuable contributor Daniel Celli Rimini for the help ...
'll Post some pictures. The cases are 7.92 Germans marked 39 and 42 (probably part of the load) a bit 'of cast aluminum, two-piece consisting of aluminum aviation and a fragment of what seems a harmonica.
