Early Aircraft Photos

On ebay are some nice quality photos of the Coanda 1911 Monoplane at:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/13481519855...QAAOSwIp9lWST~

I thought they might be of interest and appear to fit best on this board.

Regards,

Clint

Re: Early Aircraft Photos

Hello,

On ebay is a very nice photo of an early Curtiss captioned as taken at an air race in 1910. The quality of the photograph looks surprisingly good for 1910 :

There are more photos from the same occasion, which don't show the aircraft so well:

Re: Early Aircraft Photos

Hello,

Has anyone any further information on this aircraft?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/23527386376...EAAOxy~dNQ~jyr

The aircraft is described by the seller as the world's first aircraft with a variable incidence wing. The designers name transcribing from cyrillic appears to be Georgi Bozhinov ,although it is transcribed as Boginoff on wiki.

Clint

Re: Early Aircraft Photos

Clint and I discussed this one while TOCH went down - back on - down again etc.
I suggested it was the Flanders F.4 which is known to have been at Brooklands and at this point
I believe we agree it is.....

Anyone else?

Cheers
Stig

Re: Early Aircraft Photos

Hello,

Looking for some assistance identifying this machine. A Deperdussin, but the uncovered top of the fuselage is unusual and the number 157 seems quite high for a Deperussin construction number.Given the stated location, Reims-Betheny,did Hanriot or Ponnier ever build Deperdusin copies
