Re: Boleslaw Kaczmarek

Kaczmarek was commissioned in the RPAF on 16 December 1948. From my unpublished book.

Re: Boleslaw Kaczmarek

Many thanks. I assume he was not an attached RAF officer but an actual member of the Pakistan Air Force? I am fascinated by the Polish migrations to the Indian sub-continent. I know several Polish officers served in the West African Division in Burma 1944-45, did any serve with the Indian Air Force?

regards

Keith

Re: Boleslaw Kaczmarek

No, Kaczmarek never served on the RAF. He was contracted as RPAF officer, and served as such until his death. He was one of about 70 Polish airmen contracted by Pakistan.
There were few Poles in Indian commercial aviation, but as far as I know, none served in IAF at any period.
I know of Poles in the West African Division but I do not have any details.
Best wishes
Franek
