Yak-1 "white 50" Khationki 1943

Osprey's Soviet Aces of WW2 illustrates a Yak 1, "white 50" flown by Lt Col Golubov at Khationki.

I have seen reference to Normandie-Nieman a/c at Khationki.

Where is/was Khationki- I have not been able to find out through web searches or the Times Atlas of the World. ( A big atlas which includes many tiny places!)

Kathionki is mid-way between Kalouga and Bryansk.
It was a sort of potatoes field close to a forest, no wonder you can't find it on a map.

You're welcome, but frankly I'm not quite sure that is the correct spelling.
That the way the Free French spelled it anyway. Russians and Germans may have other ways.

actually Golubov's 'White 50' is a Yak-7b , not a Yak-1
(a common mis-identification)
look closely at the photo on page 27 of "Yak Fighters In Action"

I was after an alternative subject/colour scheme for an Accurate Miniatures Yak-1 other than Yellow 44, but may still go with that.
