LVG C.VI in Polish Air Force?
Hello,
according to Ukrainian sources one LVG C.VI plane, which was bought by UKrainian Galician Army in Germany, was force-landed sometimes during autumn 1919 or winter 1919/1920 on Polish territory. Name of pilot should be Eck or Jesk (Ekk, Esk or something like that). Does somebody know more about this acident (name of pilot, serial number, location of force-landing etc.) and history of this plane in Polish Air Force? Would be also interested in which articles and/or books is this plane in Polish Service described. Thanks for help. |

Re: LVG C.VI in Polish Air Force?
There were two ex-Ukrainian LVG C-VI in Polish service.
First landed on 15.08.1919 and I think this is i no that case. Second plane landed on 07.10.1919 in Komorowice near Bielsk. Ukrainian no."56" with Bz-VIa engine (serial no. 55600). Passanger version with two control columns. Served in II. Flying School in Kraków between 10.10.1919 and 12.11.1919. Crashed during landing - crew O.K. All data from "Samoloty wojskowe w Polsce 1918-1924" by Andrzej Morgała ISBN:83-11-0857-5. No further info on this book. |
