2nd Lt Charles W Starck
Could someone with access to MACR look up these two L4B aircraft?
I am told that Charles Starck was in collision with another a/c though I have no proof - could it be that he collided with the L4B from a sister unit based a few miles away? Perhaps they were flying together. 440528 STARCK, CHARLES W L-4B 43-705 CHRISTCHURCH (416), ENGLAND, UK AVON VILLAGE, ENGLAND, UK 440528 CONN, MAX W L-4B 43-701 WINKTON (414), ENGLAND, UK WINKTON (414), ENGLAND, UK Thanks in advance

Re: 2nd Lt Charles W Starck
Larry,
There won't be a MACR for the men and/or aircraft weren't missing in action. An Accident Report would be the right document to look for. Regards, Leendert |

Re: 2nd Lt Charles W Starck
Larry,
Website aviationarchaeology.com says that Conn's L-4B was involved in a ground loop on 28 May 1944, hence the damage. So not directly collision related? Regards, Leendert |

Re: 2nd Lt Charles W Starck
Thanks Leendert.
Did you see a reason for Starck's crash? If it was a collision with another aircraft it is likely that the other aircraft was not damaged sufficiently to crash as I cannot find any other aircraft that crashed that day in the Avon Valley near the New Forest.

Re: 2nd Lt Charles W Starck
Larry,
The website merely says that Starck was "killed in a crash". Regards, Leendert |
