Re: Fw.Ernst JÄCKEL and a reward of 500 Reichsmarks

The date of arrival is to JG 51 is my guess. I also guess leaving JG 26 between autumn and winter 1942. The fact is that since the summer of 1942 it has not been heard of JG 26. So I think he became a flying teacher. And it would be a great coincidence if Jäckel trained pilots IV./JG 51 (January-February 1943) in Jesau, who retrained on Bf 109 G and Fw 190. From there it was a step to 11./JG 51. But I do not have it unfortunately confirmed. Yes, I confirm that he was born in 1920, but I do not know the exact date and place of birth. I'm looking for that too. Have a nice day.

Hello Erik,
Thank you very much for your reply.
Given how successful this pilot was, there is little information about it.
Thank you again,
Regards Tony

Re: Fw.Ernst JÄCKEL and a reward of 500 Reichsmarks

''The He 219 V1 took off on its first flight on January 30, 1943 and now has the required flight characteristics. For the early successful conversion of the He 219 V1, Dr. Heinkel will receive a bonus of RM 3,000, - for completion by February 8th, 1943 (instead of the planned February 10th, 1943) and is promised RM 1,000 more for each day earlier... However, this was forbidden to him by the trustees of Heinkel Flugzeugwerke, as he said in a letter dated February 19, 1943 to Meister Richmann at the Marienehe plant.'' - Luftfahrt International No.15, p.2316

Re: Fw.Ernst JÄCKEL and a reward of 500 Reichsmarks

Hello,
I apologize for returning to this topic.
I found no evidence anywhere that Ernst Jäckel received the EP for this air victory, even this name is not even in the list of awarded EPs in the book "Der Ehrenpokal für besondere Leistung im Luftkrieg" (K.D.Patzwall).
Please does anyone have better information?
Thank you very much everyone.
Regards Tony
