James Swett painting

I'ts almost finished ! Been working on it on and off for a few weeks now. It shows James Swett's battle on 3/7/43, when he earned the Medal of Honor.

Re: James Swett painting

Very nice paintings. I especially liked the one of Roger Hedrick's #17. I just finished helping Beads Popp, who flew with Hedrick in VF-17 & VF-84, with a book on his experiences. Here's a couple pics you may enjoy.

Beads Popp

Bill's book is titled "Bead's Popp-The Survival of a Naval Aviator in WWII"
He privated printed it and it should be finished in a few weeks. I'm expecting a copy to proof this week. He only going to print 30-35 copies has of how. If anyone would like a copy I'm sure he'd be glad to let a few go. I'm guessing the cost will be $40-45.00 due to the small run but it is quite large. If you interested drop me a note at: Ordy1Jack@msn.com .
Besides flying in VF-17, Bill was a plankowner in VF-84 and flew with them from the Bunker Hill and was one of the lucky survivors of the kamikaze attack that decimated Air Group 84. Besides his 3 kills, he participated in the attack on the Yamato and the first carrier raids on Toyko.

VF-84 Survivors onboard Bunker Hill headed for the states. Ltjg Popp second row 4th from left. LCDR Hedrick is 7th from left.
