Identity of crash landed Fw-190D
This picture has been floating around since the 60s when it was part of the picture selection in " The Grand Show" by Clostermann. It was supposedly a FW-190D that was shot down by Clostermann but I'm inclined to doubr this.

Re: Identity of crash landed Fw-190D
According to page 175 of "Focke-Wulf Fw190D Camouflage & Markings Part 1" by E.Larger, T.Poruba & M.Deboeck [JaPo, 2005] this was Fw190D-9, WNr.212133 coded "White 1" of an unknown unit. Currently, the photo above is the only one known to exist of WNr.212133. Mention is made of the link with Clostermann, but again, details are thin on the ground...

Re: Identity of crash landed Fw-190D
There is a fuselage band that looks like a single color. Any guesses on the identity of the Dora?

Re: Identity of crash landed Fw-190D
Agree with you there Don. With regards its unit, the JaPo boys make mention of its circumstantial connection with Clostermann's II./JG26 claim on 20th April. However, the authors have yet to tie this example with any Fw190D-9 losses on this day and conclude that both its pilot and unit are still unknown...

Re: Identity of crash landed Fw-190D
In my memory is a similar photo or even this photo floating around, which was hooked up to the "Bodenplatte" operation.
