Horst Adameit's victory 5.5.42

In this instance, did Ademeit shoot down Naval Kapitan Mikhail Yakovlevich Vasilev HSU, OL 2 x ORB and OPW 1st Class of 4 GIAP-KBF who was KIA?

Re: Horst Adameit's victory 5.5.42

Adameit claimed a Yak-1 at 18:42 at Leningrad. The 4 GIAP KBF were I believe flying La-5 at that time and Vasil'ev was lost over the Gulf of Finland and I haven't found a mission time. It is possible that he fell to one of the Finnish pilots of the 34th squadron who claimed La-5 on that day

Thanks, Nokose. For the record, I may have read it wrong but the www.allace.ru website seemed to be pointing toward 4 GIAP-KBF still using LaGG-3s until late in 1942.... Would love to know what the case really was.

Re: Horst Adameit's victory 5.5.42

Hi Nokose,

I just copy + pasted your reference "сталинские соколы" into my browser's adress line and all it did was cause google to bring up a whole stack of references, the first of which was a youtube clip, the next was a website about Stalin.

Could you please provide the correct URL?

With thanks
Nick

Re: Horst Adameit's victory 5.5.42

Thanks again, Nokose.

This time, one more question: which part of the site do I search on? i.e. which button on the homepage should I click on to start....?

Sorry, but Russian is very much my third language....

Thanks Russell, that was a new one on me....

Nokose - is there any info on the website regarding casualties and who shot down whom? I have been poking around and have found very little of that kind of info...

Nick
