Help with identification of Ju 52 crash, August 1944
Hi all!
Can anyone help me to identify Ju 52 shown on attached photograph? Crash should happen during second half of August 1944 somewhere in Slovakia. I have also some more photos from this crash site, but none of them shows first two signs of fuselage code. Second two letters of code are "LK". I would warmly appreciate any help and info. Thanks... |

Re: Help with identification of Ju 52 crash, August 1944
Ahoj Boris,
I can only guess but I would say the most probably Tante Ju from I./TG 1 or I./TG 4. I./TG 2 and I./TG 5 for sure not, I./TG 3 is less probable, but also possible. I have in my database several crashes of TG 4´s planes in summer 1944 around Czech-Slovak border. One of plane was - for example - G6+EK of 2./TG 4 crashed nearby Přerov on May 1944. By the way, absolutely high number of crashed Ju-52 in 1944 on territory of Bohemia and Moravia belonged to TG 4. At least according my database Can you add more informations as location, reason of crash and exact date? Sorry, I couldn´t help more. Maj sa Michal |
