Johann Zimmermann, 2./JG 54

Hi All,
presently I looking for all information reg 2./NAG 13 during the time period the Staffel was based in Donaueschingen. (Oct. 44 - April 45)

During that time, Fw. Johann Zimmermann was lost in combat.

I found some info regarding Zimmermann, saying that a Johann Zimmermann flew in 2./JG 54 already in 1942, but have no evedince if this is the same Zimmermann nor how long he flew in JG 54.

Does anybody have some more details about Johann Zimmermnn's military vita?

Is this the same Zimmermann who later flew in 2./NAG 13?

Hi Rolf,

I have no evidence that Johann Zimmermann ever flew with NAGr. 13, but it could well be, that he was earlier stationed (October) in Donaueschingen. Perhaps this is the guy you`re searching for.

8./JG 53 / Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-14/AS / # 786613 / Blue 3 + - / Dogfight with P-47 Thunderbolt - 50th Fighter Group - 1st TACAF (Prov.) / Crashed near Hinterlangenbach, Baiersbronn (Baden-Württemberg) - Germany / Unteroffizier Johannes Zimmermann / Bailed out - KIA (Zimmermann applies first as missing in action. His remains were found at July 17th 1952 in a Wood. Other source said, the crashplace was Hinterlangenbach northwest of Vöhrenbach)

Not the same. This Uffz was born 25 Sep 1922 and the other Fw Johann Zimmermann from 2./NAGr. 13 was born 15 Nov 1909.
