The relationship of the NSFK and the Luftwaffe?

Was it the norm or the exception for pilots to have been members of the NSFK before joining the Luftwaffe?

How important was the NSFK's pre-military training in the formation of new Luftwaffe pilots?

Sid, my uncle held membership in both the NSFK and DLV, prior to being reactivated as an Oberleutnant d.R. in the Luftwaffe. I think it was the exception to have been previously a member of the NSFK, as by 1935, with the establishment of the new Luftwaffe, membership in this organization was considered more prestigious to that of the NSFK.
